Summer's LOOOOONG

I've come to the conclusion that summer break is about 3 weeks too long. My kids were SO ready to head back to school weeks before it began. Last year we met a family from England and they were shocked to hear how many weeks American kids have off for summer. They said in England the kids have a 6 week holiday break. That about sounds perfect!

Maybe if we could afford a bunch of camps and things for the kids to attend it wouldn't seem so long. But, we can't and by the last few weeks of summer the kids were bored and quite frankly sick of being around each other all day long. They like each other but it was too much together time.

So we settled in for the long last stretch of summer. We enjoyed resting...

And we hiked...

And we bonfired...

And we visited the library...

And we had beach days and then had to soak our feet from the rocks scrapes...

And when things got really bad I turned to candy...

Tuba started to get depressed with the long wait...

I got a bit crazy and to entertain myself I began to take pics of my sleeping kids...

And you know what?! We made it! Phew! Another great summer (yet long) under my belt. And we are SOOOOOOO happy that school has arrived. Yeah!

Little Mommy's Helper

I have so many photos of Sis helping George. Remember...she is nicknamed Little Mommy.

Well, I caught this happening the other day. Sis needed help tying her belt. Brother to the rescue!

So cute! I love it when they help each other.

Best Buddies

I was walking through the kitchen and overheard these two talking about being Best Buddies for EVER! Then they stopped and George asked Sis to pinky promise on it. 

I stopped and had them hold the pose while I grabbed my camera. 

So sweet. It makes my mommy heart so happy to hear and see my babies being friends.

Sleep Tight...

Mr. P has been sleeping with Tuba...in the bottom half of their bunk bed. Mr. P sometimes starts out on the top bunk but Tuba continues to call his name until he comes down to snuggle. Precious.

I LOVE my brother!

This must be why Tuba is the only brother who's name Sis can say! So sweet. He's just thrilled to sit and feed her. Her little tongue was a lickin' like mad.

Such a fun day

I've had such a fun day today. We were at Costco and I had the most delightful time picking out some baby girl clothes. When we got home there was a new picture of our sweet girl in the mail from our agency. What a wonderful surprise! She has the fatest cheeks. She looks so good, healthy and beautiful. We are looking forward to a new medical report soon that will tell us her current height/weight. There are a couple of families in Addis right now and they will be taking pictures of her for us too.
Tomorrow I have my monthly appt. at the Dr.'s office. They will be scheduling my ultrasound, which I'm very excited to have (except for the drinking gallons of water). I love seeing the baby and of course I can't wait to find out the sex! Mr. P is sure it's a girl. I've tried to prepare him that it could be a boy...but he's just sure. It's too funny, I always thought he would want more brothers. He was over the moon with the new picture of his sister today.
