It's here, it's here, it's FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!! Cam is done. Done with classes, done with clinical. DONE. Okay, he is studying for his board test but NO MORE SCHOOL!!! EVER!!
If you can't tell, I'm very excited. :)
If you can't tell, I'm very excited. :)
Since this is my blog...let's talk about me. I made it! I did it! I survived 2 years (the busiest 2 years of my life) with Cam not home much. I endured and now it's done!! I can't say that I did a great job the whole time. Eeeks! There were some long tired crabby lonely days in there. But, I did my best....most of the time. And, I hope my kids are too young or too kind to hold the bad days against me. Please?!
Yesterday (his official last day of clinical) I felt blah...kind of like just get this over with!! I didn't feel excited in a good way. I just wanted it to be over. But today, I'm so excited. Actually, last night when Cam got home I shrieked loudly and we all ran to the front door, flung it open and then proceeded to shriek, and jump around the front porch, all while giving Cam a group hug. Okay, and cry a little too.
If you haven't already heard the news...Cam got a new job. It's his dream job and he REALLY wanted it. I'm so happy for him that he landed it. Of course I thought he'd get it! Plus, he bought a fabulous new suit and he looked amazing in it for his interview!! He will be the NP at the ICU he currently works in. He will be employed by the Medical School and will oversee the residents. He gets to teach, do some research as well as care for patients in the ICU. He is so thrilled. I'm thrilled for these reasons...the pay $$, and the schedule which is NO weekends and nights and barely any holidays. I guess I can live with every other Christmas and Thanksgiving...just don't mess with the weekends. ;)
So, we won't be moving to Hawaii...now. We looked and looked for NP jobs but there were none....especially on The Big Island...which is where we want to go. So, we will be saving up for a vacation there instead.
The rest of summer is going to be great!! We have our annual vacation to the beach, Cam is participating in a triathlon, and lots of fun things to do as a FAMILY! Whooo-hoooooooooo!!
Sounds like Can got his dream job. I knew he was super smart, hard working, charming, etc, etc, but I'm very impresssed! You BOTH deserve this job.
ReplyDeleteBig congratulations to all of you!! I figured he was doing something medical but I didn't know exactly what. This is a nurse practitioner, am I right? I am looking at nursing school, once I get a few science prereq. done (A and P, especially, this fall). I was a music teacher in my pre-children life, but am looking at a different path now. And I think I am older than you guys! :-) Still, good to see some other non-twenty-somethings going back to school! :-) Way to go, Cam AND family too!!

This is just the perfect ending to a roller-coaster ride. Good work for both of you. Good job kidlets. Everyone who knows you both understands what this has cost in terms of sweat, tears, and hard work. Now, my sweeties, celebrate!!!
ReplyDeletesoooo happy for you!
